Anthony Robbins – Is He A Legitimate Personal Development Guru?
Don’t you find it annoying when a person like Anthony Robbins tries to give you advice on how to improve your life? I have been seeing this so called guru on TV for over 20 years talking about his programs and seminars. Honestly, I thought he was one of the most irritating self-help gurus around today.
Then I started wondering whether or not any of his teachings were worth a grain of salt. So I decided to learn more about all the hype and write to you to give you a little insight on the truth i found behind this personal development guru. After all, I’ve always found it strange that people can become successful off of telling everyone else what to do in order to be successful.
I got tickets for one of his seminars in Chicago, Illinois sometime ago and was immediately struck by the amount of individuals that went to listen. When I was in an apprehensive state, all I could think of was, “yikes! What a group of fools.” When he came to the stage, the entire crowd rose to its feet in thunderous applause for about 5 minutes.
The good news was, he didn’t waste any time getting to the point. He explained his normal question about, “Why do people do the things they do?” Tony covered probably 15 different subjects throughout the time of the seminar, but there was one that really changed the landscape of my thought process.
The talk that hit home with me was about health. Throughout the years, I have let my health go due to life’s various stresses. No matter if it is bills, relationships, work, no vacations, or anything else contributing to self-doubt, fatigue and a loss of drive. He told us that the rest was insignificant if we did not have good health.
This area alone was enough to peak my interest to learn more and purchase one of Tony Robbins’s programs. What I soon found out was that it didn’t only cover some of the areas he covered in the seminar, but also things on just about every subject. I watched video after video about modeling yourself on other achievers, something he calls “The Triad,” self-belief, and various other topics.
To see if this is something that would benefit you depends on how you think about things. If you want to make a change to better your life, then of course it is something worth getting into. However if you were like me a couple of years back and thought all this self help stuff was for suckers, then stick with what you are doing. Just do not be upset with the results you will get, because like Anthony Robbins states, “You have a choice, and it shapes your destiny.”
This is the simplest way to turn lemons into lemonade as the saying goes. I never thought I would do a complete turn around in my life. I now run 5 miles three times a week, I have a lot more energy to have fun with my children, and live a life of happiness that my family and I always desired.
Listen, I’m not a millionaire or anything, but I’m happy with the way things have turned out. I owe it to Tony Robbins, and my backwards initiative to go see his seminar. In the end, I would recommend his self-help information to anyone.
